Ski Day but Not Today

Susan and I were going to go skiing today but we pussied out and stayed in bed.

That allowed us to do a little work around the house. Susan got back to work on stenciling and I varnished the mantle.

Prior to all that work, I did a little clean up in the Carriage House, cleaned out the fireplace, chopped a little wood, and watched some football.

We are narrowing in on doing something with the fireplace tiles. I have probably talked about this in an earlier post so there is going to be repeated information. Here's a picture of the fireplace as it exists now.

Below is a picture of what we want to do to spice things up a bit and add our own creative elements. We have found a place on line where we can essentially design our own custom tiles.

We really like the way this looks but can't decide whether to do 10 tiles across the top or 8. Okay, let's all decide together. Here it is with 10.

At present, the tiles will cost us $28.00 a piece. So we're talking about $300.00 in all.
