More Floor! What a Bore! What Rhymes with Prostitute and Just How Long Can I Make These Headers

Susan and I have been oh so busy enjoying life and everything that goes with life that we just have not had time to stop and smell the Blog. Finally, a brief recess has entered the picture and I can now update on the things that need to be dated up.

Let's talk Hardwood Flooring! Here are a couple of pictures showing our progress and where we are right now.
We now have about five feet of linoleum remaining to remove. We have been removing it in small little sections that take a couple of hours to do. That way, it is not too taxing or rigorous for us to get through.
As we pull up linoleum and uncover the old hardwood, we are discovering the truth about the history of the floor. Apparently, part of that history involves a good deal of water damage to the hardwood floor in the area just in front of the bathroom. We have determined that a few boards of hardwood will need to be replaced. My feeling is that when this was a Home for Retarded Adults, they knew where the bathroom was but they just couldn't get there fast enough.
Because we have a passion for old homes, we are drawn to those who share our passion. Last night we had dinner with a couple of guys we have met who have purchased and are restoring what is believed to be the oldest standing residence in Spokaloo. In order to keep things private, we shall call them Mike and Steven. It is totally a coincidence if that turns out to be their real names. One can see what they are doing and their impressive results by visiting http://www.muzzymansion.com/.
We sometimes get a big head and think we have accomplished a lot in four years. These guys have accomplished a crap load in two years. I'm not too concerned because they have a lot more work to do than we do. However, I'm not taking any bets on who will be finished first.
(Psst! Don't bet on us!)
